The problem I find is that playing in 1680x1050 the battle windows, the roster window and the map window have plenty of screen space, but the overthe head view of the character sprites is "too far away." Feels like I am looking through the wrong end of a pair of binoculars. What would be the best resolution to play the game? I assume some multiple of 10:8 such as 1680x1050, 1440x900, or 1280x800. To understand exactly how limited this game is in its graphical presentation, consider how it only takes 26.6MB to install. Luck is hilarious and must be seen to be believed - I recommend a minimum of four luck per character with an extra 2+ on whoever by the middle of early game. The music is bearable, but ambient sounds lack the realism to draw one in.

Which is at High settings on 1080p performance. Invest all out you may just win the game through fourth wall implosion. The experience of playing Avernum 6 through a 3 year old GeForce RTX 3050 is going to return a reliable 70 FPS.
I run it at 1680x1050 normally because the print is too small on higher resolutions. Luck is the best stat to have by far - impossible to be too lucky.
